Go (or Baduk/Weiqi) is a 3,000-year-old two-player strategy game involving placing black and white "stones" (dots) on a grid to surround more territory than the opponent. Played on a 19 × 19 19 cross 19 1 9 × 1 9 board (or smaller 9 × 9 9 cross 9 9 × 9 for beginners), players take turns placing stones, with Black moving first. Stones remain in place once played, but can be captured if completely surrounded.
This video provides a great introduction to the rules and strategy of Go:
Goal: The primary objective is to occupy and surround a larger total empty area of the board with your stones than your opponent. Gameplay: Players alternate placing one stone of their color on the intersections of the lines. Stones can be placed on any empty intersection. Capturing: A stone or group of stones is captured and removed from the board when all adjacent, vacant spaces (called liberties) are filled by the opponent's stones. Game End: The game ends when both players pass their turn, usually when no more beneficial moves can be made. The winner is determined by counting controlled territory plus captured stones. Komi: Because Black goes first, White is often awarded additional points (komi), commonly 7.5, to compensate for the disadvantage.
Binairo (or Takuzu): A logic puzzle on a grid where players fill cells with black or white circles to ensure an equal number of each in every row and column. Hit-the-Dot : A fast-paced reaction game where players click on appearing black dots within 30 seconds.
Can someone explain why Black can play where the mouse is? I thought the white on the left white player prevents to be completely surrounded. Read more
