Requirements & Safety
Account Type: You must switch your Instagram account to a free Business or Creator account. Meta Compliance: Always use official Meta Business Partners or tools running on Meta's official Graph API (such as Manychat ). Avoid unauthorized browser extensions or bots that scrape data or auto-scrape actions, as these risk account bans.
Core Automation Triggers
Comment-to-DM (Keyword): A user comments a specific word (like "INFO" or "GUIDE") on your Reel or post. The system auto-replies publicly to the comment and instantly triggers a private DM containing your link or resource. Story Replies & Mentions: When a follower reacts or replies to your Instagram Story or mentions your handle, an automated conversation starts. Direct Messages: Responding immediately when someone sends an inbound DM containing designated keywords or pre-filled icebreakers.
Best Practices
Rotate Variations: Write multiple variations of your automated messages or use AI generation so your account doesn't sound repetitive or trigger spam filters. Include Text Fallbacks: If using quick-reply buttons, remember that desktop users cannot click them; always instruct users to also reply with the keyword text.
