Matterport; Yes or No?

Top comment · I cover the cost of my monthly Matterport plan in a job or two. The rest is gravy. It prints money for me. I use both the Pro2 and a 360 camera. The Pro2 is not critical for most jobs - I mainly use 360's (both Theta and Insta360). I like having the Pro2 for more complicated spaces or if measurements need to be much more accurate. I always bring both to every job for the same reason I always have two cameras and two drones, etc. Matterport doesn't necessarily sell itself, but get confidant in your sales pitch and you can make a lot of your agents buy those services. Also, look outside just residential real estate and try to get commercial jobs: Restaurants, construction sites, hotels, convention space, etc. Learn (easy) how to do scans for retail locations and publish them to Google Maps too. I've done a lot of those and they make bank.

At Matterport, we turn complexity into clarity. Massive, multi-story buildings and spaces can be now digitally reassembled as easily as snapping together LEGO bricks. No CAD experience required!

Who else is doing this? We do a matterport scan of every one of our projects before we cover with insulation. This gives us the ability to go back and view every square foot of the home at this stage. All too often, things will get buried by the drywallers, and this is the assures that we can find them again. We are using the Theta Z-1 by Ricoh Imaging. We take our scans and load them directly into the matterport app, which then stores them on the cloud for us. #construction #technology #camera
