Key Aspects of a Peppol ID:

Structure: It typically combines an Issuer Agency Code (IAC) and a specific identifier (e.g. 0106:12345678 for a Dutch KVK number). Purpose: It ensures invoices are delivered to the correct recipient, acting as a "digital phone number". How to Get One: Register via a certified Peppol access point provider, which is often integrated into accounting software. Lookup: Organizations can be found in the Peppol Directory. Required Format: A full participant ID often includes a prefix, such as iso6523-actorid-upis::0106:12345678.

Commonly Used Identifiers:

VAT Number: Common for business-to-business transactions. GLN (Global Location Number): Often used for international transactions. Specific National IDs: For example, German government vendors use the Leitweg-ID. Company Registration Number: (e.g., KVK in the Netherlands).

If you are only sending invoices, you may not strictly need to register a receiver ID, but it is necessary for receiving. Qvalia
