Who ranks for “why do google reviews disappear”

Google reviews can disappear for several reasons, primarily due to policy violations or account issues. Reviews might be removed for spam, fake content, or inappropriate language, or if they violate Google's content policies. Additionally, reviews can vanish if the reviewer deletes their account, or due to technical glitches or algorithm updates.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Policy Violations:

Spam or Fake Reviews: Google actively removes reviews that are flagged as spam, fake, or incentivized. Inappropriate Content: Reviews containing offensive language, illegal content, or irrelevant information are also removed. Duplicate Content: If a review is a duplicate of an existing review, Google might remove it. Overuse of Keywords and Links: Excessive use of keywords, promotional language, or URLs in reviews can trigger a spam filter.

2. Account Issues:

If the reviewer deletes their Google account, the associated review will disappear. Google may flag and remove reviews from new, inactive, or suspicious accounts.

3. Technical Issues:

Glitches and Bugs: Sometimes, technical glitches or bugs in Google's system can cause reviews to disappear temporarily. Algorithm Updates: Google's algorithms are constantly updated, and these updates can sometimes lead to unexpected removals or display issues.

4. Other Reasons:

Conflict of Interest: Google may remove reviews that indicate a conflict of interest, such as a customer leaving a review for a business they also work for. Future Opening Dates: Any reviews left for a business before it sets a future opening date are removed. Merging Profiles: Reviews may be temporarily unavailable after a Google Business Profile is merged.
