Designed by 100architects, it merges nature, fluid geometries, and open-ended play into a unique destination. WIRED SCAPE The design draws inspiration from Guangzhou’s diverse natural landscapes, focusing on two main elements: forest and flowing water, translated into abstract and dynamic forms. WIRED SCAPE Every structure in the playscape appears to be made of wires wrapping around an invisible axis, creating highly textured and tactile volumes with a surreal and sculptural quality. WIRED SCAPE This wire-based design method shapes the “trees” of the forest, forming dreamlike volumes that resemble woven spheres, full of texture and visual richness. WIRED SCAPE The central play equipment features four sculptural trees. These climbable structures also function as overhead canopies, offering shade and creating vertical connections through hanging bridges. WIRED SCAPE The structures are both playful and monumental, providing kids with fun challenges and adults with vantage points to observe or join the activities. WIRED SCAPE Inspired by the flow of rivers, colorful curved lines define the ground patterns, weaving throughout the site in a visual expression of movement and continuity. WIRED SCAPE These lines connect various functional zones, from playful plazas to resting platforms, unifying the space with a flowing, wired landscape. WIRED SCAPE Right in front of the main play area lies a sunken plaza, functioning as a small amphitheater or “sunken lake,” offering a place for gathering and observation. WIRED SCAPE The space invites both activity and rest—ideal for performances, social interaction, or quiet reflection within a playful environment. WIRED SCAPE Wired Scape is not just for children. It’s a multi-generational space where parents, kids, and young adults engage together in shared moments of joy. WIRED SCAPE Children climb, jump, slide, and explore freely, developing motor and cognitive skills through imaginative and active play. WIRED SCAPE Parents can rest comfortably in shaded seating areas with clear sightlines, feeling at ease while staying close and connected to their children. WIRED SCAPE Young adults are drawn to the bold sculptural features, photo-friendly aesthetics, and vibrant social atmosphere that makes the space feel alive and inviting. WIRED SCAPE The playscape also features classic playground elements—swings, seesaws, merry-go-rounds, and spring seats—encouraging physical engagement and fun for everyone. WIRED SCAPE A round ping-pong table adds a playful, interactive layer that invites competition, movement, and friendly exchanges among users. WIRED SCAPE Seating throughout the landscape is dynamic and social, designed to be part of the playful experience rather than just functional rest stops. WIRED SCAPE Generous shading structures and multiple entry points ensure accessibility and comfort at all times of day and for all users. WIRED SCAPE Wired Scape promotes overall well-being by combining physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction in one coherent experience. WIRED SCAPE At night, the atmosphere transforms through carefully designed lighting embedded into the wired structures and the ground. WIRED SCAPE Selected lines are illuminated subtly, turning the space into an enchanted glowing forest—active and magical even after sunset. WIRED SCAPE By day, it’s a vibrant tactile forest. By night, it becomes a dreamlike, illuminated world full of wonder and beauty. WIRED SCAPE Wired Scape stands out in Guangzhou’s urban fabric as a new landmark—merging play, design, and community into one imaginative environment. © 100architects - Neighborhood Intervention - Guangzhou - Landscape Architecture - Products More images Wired Scape is an innovative playscape nestled in a residential district of Guangzhou, China. RUBIX SQUARE The space is composed of five unique installations, each inspired by a different sport or activity to promote movement, exploration, and playful engagement. RUBIX SQUARE At the center lies the main installation, Rubix Square itself—a colossal, habitable playground shaped as a three-story building. RUBIX SQUARE Inspired by the famous Rubik’s Cube, the structure transforms the puzzle into an immersive, interactive experience you can explore from the inside. RUBIX SQUARE Inside, visitors discover a vibrant, dynamic interior where play and movement are encouraged through color, structure, and layered spatial arrangements. RUBIX SQUARE Surrounding the central cube are four other installations, each offering a different kind of physical and sensory interaction. RUBIX SQUARE The first is The Hashtag—a large, ground-based labyrinth shaped like a hashtag symbol, made to walk, crawl, or run through. RUBIX SQUARE Inside The Hashtag, visitors find slides, swings, lighting games, and hidden corners, encouraging discovery and surprise around every turn. RUBIX SQUARE The maze-like structure fosters open-ended exploration for users of all ages, from children to adults. RUBIX SQUARE Next is the Basket Triangle, an installation inspired by basketball but designed with artistic freedom and playful distortion. RUBIX SQUARE Baskets are arranged at different angles and heights—some upside down—inviting creative play and imaginative shooting practice. RUBIX SQUARE This installation helps children develop hand-eye coordination and balance while offering a refreshing twist on a familiar sport. RUBIX SQUARE The third installation, Wall Ball, focuses on football, featuring a tall wall with holes of varying sizes and difficulty levels. RUBIX SQUARE Children practice kicking balls into the targets, challenging their precision and having fun in a casual, competitive way. RUBIX SQUARE The fourth area, Heli-Skate, is a beginner-friendly skatepark with small ramps, curves, and slopes for developing balance and control. RUBIX SQUARE It offers a safe, welcoming space for kids to learn skating basics and build confidence on their boards. RUBIX SQUARE All installations are tied together by a colorful floor design, combining stone, paint, and EPDM rubber in a flowing, playful layout. RUBIX SQUARE Painted lines and grids reference the cube’s geometry and connect the entire space into one visual and experiential narrative. RUBIX SQUARE Square planters with trees and wooden seating are placed throughout, bringing greenery and shaded areas for resting and gathering. RUBIX SQUARE As night falls, Rubix Square is transformed by artistic lighting that enhances the surreal, dreamlike quality of each installation. RUBIX SQUARE The lights turn the entire space into a glowing, fantastical playscape—inviting visitors to enjoy it day and night. RUBIX SQUARE Rubix Square is more than a public space; it is an immersive, ever-active artwork that invites curiosity, play, and social connection. RUBIX SQUARE In the heart of a residential community, it stands as a bold urban statement and a playground for all generations. © 100architects - Neighborhood Intervention - Fuzhou - Architectural Design - Products More images Rubix Square is a hyper-stimulating public space in Fuzhou, China, nestled within a residential area and surrounded by housing buildings on all sides. It serves as a central point for youth activities and social interactions. THE HUB Designed by 100architects for Emaar Misr, The Hub introduces a bold and colorful public space. It immerses visitors in experiences that engage people of all ages, but it’s especially targeted at adolescents and young adults. THE HUB In late 2023, Emaar Misr approached 100architects with an ambitious goal: to design a one-of-a-kind entertainment hub. The vision was to create a social anchor for young people in the Marassi development. THE HUB The idea was for The Hub to complement the existing public facilities and amenities for adults at Marassi. This gave the project a clear focus on creating a lively and energetic space for youth. THE HUB The challenge was immense—100architects had only two months to design and six months to complete the construction of this groundbreaking project. THE HUB Construction kicked off in January 2024, with the team working at full speed. The goal was to deliver the immersive and dynamic space just in time for the summer season. THE HUB At the core of The Hub’s design is the concept of a "Big Bang," symbolizing life, youth, and energy. This idea is translated through bold visuals and dynamic forms. THE HUB The "Big Bang" concept manifests in the use of bright colors, engaging lighting, and flowing shapes. Together, they create an inviting environment that draws people in. THE HUB Visitors are guided through the space by a creative wayfinding system, with colorful lines embedded directly into the ground. These lines enhance foot traffic flow while adding to the design's visual appeal. THE HUB The master plan of The Hub is structured around a "triple heart" layout. This layout consists of three primary zones: a multipurpose event space, a playground, and a Kids Town. THE HUB The Central Plaza sits at the heart of The Hub, surrounded by these three key zones. This arrangement is designed to encourage spontaneous interactions and self-expression. THE HUB The Hub’s design encourages social engagement and youth expression, staying true to 100architects' philosophy of creating public spaces that foster community interaction. THE HUB The design is vibrant and dynamic, inviting visitors to explore, play, and connect in a space that is both entertaining and social. THE HUB The multipurpose event space is designed to host a variety of activities. It can adapt to different types of gatherings, from concerts to community events. THE HUB The playground is one of the main attractions at The Hub, offering spaces for physical play and creative exploration for children and teenagers. THE HUB Kids Town is specifically designed for younger audiences, featuring playful installations and areas where kids can safely explore and engage with their surroundings. THE HUB Besides these main areas, The Hub also offers a variety of attractions such as an open-air cinema, a go-kart track, and a roller-skating rink. These activities are aimed at engaging both children and young adults. THE HUB Sports courts are also available, adding to the variety of activities. Visitors can participate in various sports while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. THE HUB The arcade offers an indoor entertainment option, giving visitors a chance to engage with games and virtual activities in a fun, immersive setting. THE HUB The flexible public spaces are designed to accommodate pop-up markets, concerts, and workshops. These areas are adaptable to seasonal or temporary events, enhancing the overall experience. THE HUB The Hub’s commercial aspect includes 10,000 m² dedicated to F&B and 15,000 m² for retail spaces. This combination makes it not only a place for entertainment but also a destination for dining and shopping. THE HUB Container-based F&B outlets are a standout feature, adding an industrial edge to the design. These outlets, along with locally themed retail shops, resonate with the young, urban crowd. THE HUB The modular design approach enabled a rapid construction process while maintaining the striking visual appeal that defines The Hub. THE HUB The Hub’s success has been immediate, with large crowds flocking to the space each day. Its vibrant atmosphere and wide range of activities have made it a key destination on Egypt’s North Coast. THE HUB Given the success of the initial phase, plans for Phase 2 are already in motion. This phase, scheduled for completion by June 2025, will introduce even more amenities and play areas. THE HUB As 100architects continues to push the boundaries of public space design, The Hub stands as a testament to their commitment to creating environments that are vibrant, interactive, and community-focused. © 100architects - Metropolitan Intervention - El-Alamein - Master Planning - Products More images The Hub, located in Marassi on Egypt’s North Coast, is a sprawling entertainment destination covering 60,000 m². NOMAD’S CARPET Each knot in those traditional carpets becomes a colorful pixel here, transforming into functional spaces that blend greenery, sports, play areas, and cultural landmarks into one cohesive urban tapestry. NOMAD’S CARPET Also known as the Juldyz Memorial and Entertainment Hub, the project reinterprets Kazakh ornamental patterns as contemporary geometric abstractions applied across pavements, landscape elements, and urban furniture. NOMAD’S CARPET The site is structured around four key corners, each dedicated to a specific program: a sports hub, an urban forest, a family playland, and a peaceful green park for relaxation. NOMAD’S CARPET The sports corner features multipurpose courts, fields, and workout zones designed to foster physical activity and community engagement, serving all ages and skill levels throughout the year. NOMAD’S CARPET The urban forest offers a lush, immersive environment, combining dense greenery with winding paths, shaded resting areas, and spaces for quiet contemplation within the city fabric. NOMAD’S CARPET The playland corner is a vibrant theme park for families, filled with interactive installations, colorful structures, and playful landscapes designed to inspire creativity and social interaction. NOMAD’S CARPET The fourth corner is a tranquil green park, offering open lawns, shaded seating, and spaces for casual gatherings, picnics, and community events in a relaxed environment. NOMAD’S CARPET Each corner is supported by a service building that provides amenities, including training centers, arcades, co-working spaces, and indoor gyms, ensuring comfort and convenience for visitors. NOMAD’S CARPET At the heart of Nomad’s Carpet stands a monumental memorial complex, representing the soul of Kazakhstan and serving as the cultural epicenter of the entire development. NOMAD’S CARPET Four grand buildings occupy the ground floor of this complex: an art museum, a history museum, a library, and a conference hall, forming a complete cultural offering. NOMAD’S CARPET Above these buildings, four large exhibition halls are arranged on the second floor, connected by an elevated green pathway that invites visitors on a symbolic journey. NOMAD’S CARPET This elevated pathway crosses through each exhibition hall, gradually leading visitors toward the center, where a majestic cascading water feature awaits as a focal point. NOMAD’S CARPET The elevated balcony overlooking the water creates an overwhelming sense of scale and serenity, offering visitors a moment for reflection and admiration of the nation's progress. NOMAD’S CARPET All forms in the project are inspired by the geometric abstraction of Kazakh symbols — zoomorphic, plant-based, cosmogonic, and geometric patterns reinterpreted into bold contemporary designs. NOMAD’S CARPET The core design reimagines the Shanyrak, the iconic circular opening of the yurt roof, symbolizing family unity, protection, and connection between the earth and the sky. NOMAD’S CARPET Where nomads once looked upward to navigate by the stars, visitors now look down onto floating forests and pristine waters, symbolizing prosperity, growth, and the nation’s future. NOMAD’S CARPET Surrounding this monumental center, colorful pavements, expansive green areas, sports fields, and gathering spaces transform the site into a dynamic, multifunctional public destination. NOMAD’S CARPET Nomad’s Carpet is more than a project; it’s a bold entertainment hub, positioning Astana as a major regional destination for culture, leisure, reflection, and celebration. © 100architects - Metropolitan Intervention - Astana - Landscape Architecture - Products More images Nomad’s Carpet is a monumental public space in Astana, inspired by the intricate carpets used by Kazakhstan’s nomadic tribes to decorate their yurts with symbolic patterns and vibrant colors. INFINITY SPACE The project strikes a perfect balance between contemporary design and its rich historical context, creating both a landmark and a cultural hub. INFINITY SPACE Infinity Space aims to become a defining point of reference where modernity and heritage intersect, offering a dynamic setting for relaxation and active engagement. INFINITY SPACE At the heart of the design is a striking red structure inspired by the nearby Infinity Bridge, a well-known landmark in the area. INFINITY SPACE The continuous, fluid form of the bridge is reflected in Infinity Space, creating dynamic movement and connection with the surrounding context. INFINITY SPACE The open, unroofed design allows for the installation of flexible canopies to provide shade during the hot summer months. INFINITY SPACE This adaptable design ensures comfort while maintaining a light, airy atmosphere that doesn't compromise the space's openness. INFINITY SPACE Infinity Space is organized into four subplazas, each serving a unique function but all harmoniously linked by the overall design concept. INFINITY SPACE These include a multifunctional area, sports field, pixelated playground, and a dry fountain offering energy-efficient cooling during the summer heat. Cooling stations and resting areas appear along the way, ensuring comfort and convenience in Abu Dhabi’s warm climate. BLUE WAVE This blue ribbon guides visitors through carefully curated spaces, offering a variety of experiences and activities. It becomes both a visual element and a functional connector for all users. BLUE WAVE Cyclists can traverse the 1.5-kilometer promenade quickly, stopping at shaded areas, seating spaces, or playful features, turning a simple ride into a sequence of engaging moments. BLUE WAVE The design moves away from a single central attraction, instead distributing experiences throughout the promenade. This creates a large-scale, interactive urban space encouraging continuous discovery and participation. BLUE WAVE Visitors are invited to explore seating areas, public pools, shaded lounges, playful features, sports courts, and an open-air cinema. Each stop offers a unique, immersive experience for everyone. BLUE WAVE The promenade is organized into distinct zones catering to different interests and age groups. Each zone brings its own character, yet remains connected by the blue wave pavement. BLUE WAVE The Active Beach Zone is designed for young people, with sporting facilities, climbing walls, and social spaces. It becomes a lively meeting point for outdoor activities and energetic gatherings. BLUE WAVE The Water Sports Zone offers water-based fun and relaxation. Families and children can enjoy pools, playgrounds, and shaded spots designed for leisure near the water’s edge. BLUE WAVE At the far end, the Pier becomes a hub of excitement. Viewing platforms, sunbathing decks, and event spaces open toward cultural landmarks like the Guggenheim and Zayed Museums. BLUE WAVE On the quieter side, the Private Beach provides an intimate retreat. Luxurious lounges and an open-air cinema create a refined atmosphere for peaceful evenings and exclusive moments. BLUE WAVE Despite differences in energy, all zones share the same flowing design language. The undulating pavement and curved shapes unify the spaces, reinforcing harmony with the natural coastline. BLUE WAVE Concave areas offer easy beach access and host playful or social activities, while convex forms stretch out toward the sea, creating gathering plazas and mini-piers for entertainment. BLUE WAVE A dedicated bikeway runs throughout the master plan, connecting zones and offering locals and visitors an enjoyable, efficient way to explore the entire waterfront with ease. BLUE WAVE The project transforms Mamsha Beach into a new model of leisure and social interaction, blending bold urban design with the natural beauty of Abu Dhabi’s coastline. BLUE WAVE Blue Wave encourages exploration, connection, and relaxation. Every zone and feature becomes part of a vibrant social platform, inviting visitors to linger, meet, and enjoy. BLUE WAVE This dynamic waterfront redefines the promenade as a prime destination for the UAE, merging design, function, and experience in one continuous wave of color and energy. © 100architects - Metropolitan Intervention - Abu Dhabi - Master Planning - Products More images The defining feature of Blue Wave is its vibrant blue pavement, undulating across the entire promenade like a wave along the shore, connecting each area in one continuous, fluid movement. Dedicated lanes for pedestrians and cyclists enhance movement throughout the promenade. Cooling stations and resting areas appear along the way, ensuring comfort and convenience in Abu Dhabi’s warm climate. # Not a usual waterfront experience 11 2 GREEN SKYLINE Hengqin | China Neighborhood Intervention Architectural Design 23.05.2024 GREEN SKYLINE The project features a series of innovative capsules designed in distinctive skyline shapes, adding a unique and artistic element to the waterfront.
