## How does payment in installments work?

With Alma, you can offer your customers the option to pay in installments on your e-commerce site or in your stores. When your customer makes a purchase:

- Online: they select the Alma option on the payment page. Without leaving your site, the customer pays by credit card or bank transfer. Once the payment is confirmed, the order is validated.
- In-store: they ask a cashier to opt for payment with Alma. The customer pays by credit card via a payment link received by text message or on a payment terminal (depending on eligibility). Their purchase is validated and the customer leaves with their items.

We validate installment payment requests in less than 10 seconds, without keeping your customers waiting. You then receive the revenue collected via Alma in your bank account.

For you, it's like a cash payment. Payments are 100% guaranteed. Alma takes care of customer collection and you have no risk of non-payment.

## What are the costs of the Alma solution?

We charge a commission for each purchase made through Alma. There are no monthly subscription fees or hidden costs.

You can share part of the costs with your customers or cover the entire amount yourself to increase your conversion rate. You can find more details on our pricing page.

## What additional services does Alma offer?

With Alma, you get a comprehensive installment payment solution to support you on a daily basis:

- **Dashboard** with over 30 key performance indicators (KPIs). Your teams can track sales and financial performance in real time with Alma.
- **Premium support** to help you set up Alma and make your first sales. Depending on your annual revenue, we will assign you an Account Manager to help you manage your use of the solution. To activate points of sale, our retail experts will support your teams to help them sell better with Alma.
- **Services** to make your daily life easier: customer refunds via the Alma dashboard, access to all your data (payment history, sales exports, accounting exports, etc.), resources to help you get started with Alma, and more.

## What are the conditions for paying in installments?

For each payment, we systematically check the following information:

- The **age of the buyer**. Only adults (18+) can pay in installments with Alma;
- The **validity period of the credit card**. We refuse cards that expire before the end of the payment with Alma;
- The **type of credit card**. We do not accept prepaid cards or virtual cards.
- Depending on the amount, the ability to **pay back with Open Banking**. This technology allows us to query the customer's bank and obtain a response in less than 5 seconds.

Our evaluation algorithm is one of the most powerful on the market, guaranteeing you maximum additional conversions.

## What payment methods are accepted with Alma?

Your customers can pay in installments by **credit card**.

We accept most credit cards **issued in Europe**: Carte Bleue, Visa, and Mastercard. We also accept American Express cards, as well as **local payment methods** depending on the country (iDeal, Bancontact, PostePay, etc.).

Only prepaid cards and single-use virtual cards are declined.

## Is payment in installments secure?

Yes. We work actively with payment service providers to accept payments from your customers and store their banking details. This partner is certified as a Level 1 PCI Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification in the payments industry.

In addition, each payment is accompanied by 3D Secure authentication. This protocol, implemented by all banks, requires payment validation via bank login or SMS. This security measure minimizes the risk of bank identity theft and fraud.

## What about the collection and use of customer data?

To process payments in installments, we collect several types of customer data:

- **Personal information**: last name, first name, email address, and phone number. This information also allows your customers to create an Alma account to manage and track their payments.
- **Bank details**: credit card number, expiration date, and security code.

We store personal information in our own data center. Bank details are stored with our partners. You can find more information on our page dedicated to our privacy and data management policy.

Under no circumstances do we use your customers' information for commercial purposes. Your customers are guaranteed not to receive any unsolicited communications from third-party companies.
