Founded by Ben, who blends professional insight with personal experience as the parent of an Autistic son, Atypically addresses the growing challenge of lengthy NHS waiting lists. Ben's vision is to bridge the gap, connecting families with leading assessors nationwide. We understand the urgency and stress parents face, and we're committed to providing a swift, reliable path to private assessments. With Atypically, families gain access to a network of specialists tailored to their unique needs, ensuring every child receives the attention and understanding they deserve. We're here to support you every step of the way, offering clarity and hope for your child's future. ## **What do we do?** Atypically helps parents to get their children seen by trusted, accredited assessors as quickly as possible. By working with leading providers of neurodiversity assessments, Atypically can help you to find reasonably priced assessments for a range of challenges your child may be facing; from ADHD to ASD. We want to spread the word that there is an alternative to waiting on the NHS lists, which can take a very long time, and for far less than you might think. Once you ask for our help, Atypically will assess your information and pass it on to the relevant assessors who will then be in contact to set a date for your first appointment. This can take as little as 10 days. #### **Why Atypically?** Close ## **Use the Atypically Free ADHD & Autism Screening Tool** Our **free screening tool** is not a full assessment, but it will give you an indication, based on potential traits that your child exhibits, of whether a full professional assessment is something that they may benefit from. It is a valuable first step and will give you some insight into what to be aware of as a parent. Use our Free Screening Tool ### **Skip the waiting lists** With NHS waiting lists now taking up to 2 years in some areas for a final diagnosis, now is the time to get your child the help they need. By going private, you can cut the waiting time down to a few weeks instead and it it doesn't cost as much as you might think! We can also now offer NHS Right to Choose assessments online. ## **Get in touch now** Private autism or ADHD assessments typically take 2 to 12 weeks from initial enquiry to diagnosis. These assessments are conducted by qualified professionals and follow the same diagnostic criteria used by the NHS. We can help you to get your initial appointment in as little as **10 days**. Let us know what you need and we will put you in touch with the right team for your child's needs. Get an assessment ASAP ##### **Right to Choose vs Private Assessments** ###### Parents often ask us: “What’s the difference between a private assessment and Right to Choose?” Both options are valid. The best choice depends on your family’s circumstances, budget, and urgency. ##### **Private Assessments** Families pay for the assessment themselves. This usually guarantees very fast access (days or weeks rather than months or years) and can be arranged through services like Atypically. ##### **Right to Choose Assessments** Funded by the NHS, but families still have choice in selecting an independent provider. Waiting times are often shorter than local NHS services but may not be as immediate as private routes, normally months rather than days or weeks and in a lot of case up to a year. #### **Latest Articles** ##### **Understanding ADHD and Autism Assessments: A Guide for Parents in the UK** More ##### **10 Signs of ADHD in Children Every Parent Should Be Aware Of** More ##### **How Autism Diagnosis Has Changed in the UK: From the 1980s to Today** More ##### **ADHD Assessments & How They Work** More #### **FAQs** ###### What makes your assessments unique? Our assessments are carried out by assessors who are the right fit for you. We only work with assessors who work to the highest standards. There will then be a number of meetings with the child to form any diagnosis. In some instances, the assessors may need further information from school teachers or GPs to help them to fully understand the bigger picture. They will discuss this with you as you go through the process. ###### How do you choose assessors? We only work with assessors who work to the highest standards.
