## Looking for a map of national parks?

I find that many users are here only because they need a free national parks map that shows **all U.S. national parks**. If that’s you, ignore this entire website and just download this map:

Click the image above for a JPG map, or **download it as a high-resolution PDF map here**. The PDF prints out beautifully as a wall poster if you send this file to a local print shop. Or you can order it as a **national park map poster** in sizes up to five feet wide for home delivery.

## Why all these free national park maps?

What is NPMaps exactly? I created this site back in 2013 out of a love for national parks and the classic National Park Service maps you get at the entrance station. But who wants to wait until you arrive to see the map? There’s nothing better than poring1 over a map to plan your trip (or to relive it after you return home).

But finding maps online frustrated me to no end. Each national park website was organized differently, with widely varying availability of maps. It felt like a frustrating treasure hunt to find the correct subpages to reveal hiking, camping, or road maps. Worse yet, map files would vanish, replaced by interactive maps that couldn’t be easily printed or downloaded.

So I did the digging for you and made the website that I wish existed. I uploaded everything here so you can go straight to them to **view maps online, print, or save locally**.2 Maps are provided with no strings attached, so you won’t need to view intrusive pop-up ads, accept any cookies, or sign up for an account or newsletter. I keep this site’s layout simple and clean, which may look old fashioned but it gets you the maps as quickly as possible.

## Some caveats and a personal note

I do my best to update this site with new and revised maps, but things change rapidly in parks. Fires, floods, and other natural hazards can result in closures that could make any given map out of date. Do not rely on this site as your sole means of navigation, and check with park staff for updated conditions.

And please keep in mind: this is not an official National Park Service website. NPMaps is a personal passion project and is **wholly independent**. I cannot send you paper maps directly; you’ll need to contact a park for that. The best I can do is offer you a link to the **National Park Maps Store**, where I experimented a little by creating map-based prints and gifts. (I think the bandanas are cool.)

If you find this site useful, please share it with fellow travelers and national park lovers! Because I have a day job and busy family life, I can’t update this site as often as I did when I was single with no shortage of time. But the more people that use this site, the more I can justify dedicating time to keep it growing and updated.3

- 1. I’ve received multiple emails telling me this is a typo. It isn’t! You **pour** yourself a drink as you **pore** over a map. I’m sure there are many typos on this site but this isn’t one. Let me know if you find others!
