IN THE CAFE

homemade gingerbread latte

Life crumbles after Eddie's baby brother vanishes, taken by something in the night. Their father retreats, boozing in town and unable to face his family. Their mother holds up a fragile mask of stability as she beats back her own feelings of despair. One night, a sickly lupine finger pierces through the grief and confusion shrouding this home in the forest, tap tap tapping at Eddie's window. The horrors that follow reveal a dark family secret, flow into the mystery of nature and the cosmos, and test the bonds of familial love.

Invoking Victor LaVelle's mastery over taut language, Stephen King's ingenuity in constructing unforgettable characters and deep primordial fears, the best existential elements of cosmic horror, and the kind of is a unique and delightful addition to contemporary horror writing. Read The Black Lord and be shaken by the unknowable mysteries of the universe, but be resolved in your faith that love can fight fear.

My Brother Otto and the Birthday Party

by

Megan Raby

The story begins by introducing the characters in the family. There are two characters, one named Piper Crow and the other one is her brother Otto. The children were invited to a birthday party for their friend. This story shows how Otto gets ready for an event, as a person who is Neurodivergent. This book follows how Piper and Otto both perceive the birthday party differently, but how they both enjoyed attending the party. It highlights the concepts of understanding and inclusion.
