Vance said Wednesday people will suffer the longer the shutdown lasts. Vance cites as examples people on low-income food programs, potential flight delays and service members reporting for duty without getting paid. The vice president tells Fox News Channel it's “craziness” and says “people are going to suffer." The government shutdown began early Wednesday after President Donald Trump and Congress failed to strike an agreement to keep government programs and services running. Democrats are demanding funding for health care subsidies that are expiring.
